Boy dies after 2 years in Nova Scotia hospital far from home

Just as health officials were preparing to move him closer to home, a Nova Scotia boy has died in the distant hospital where he was admitted two years before.

Dominick Benoit had severe spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy, was legally blind, had a seizure disorder and was developmentally delayed. He became stuck at the Valley Regional Hospital in Kentville, N.S., in 2013 after his long-term facility said they could no longer care for him.
